How we handle information collected through this site.

Last Updated: October 13, 2026

Trenches Sports & Entertainment Consulting ("Trenches," "we," "us," or "our") respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect when you visit our website at trenchesconsulting.com (the "Site") or contact us, how we use it, and the choices you have.

The Site is operated from the United States for visitors in the United States. If you visit from another country, you do so on your own initiative, and your information may be handled in the United States.

By using the Site, you acknowledge the practices described in this Privacy Policy.

1. Information We Collect

Information You Provide

When you send us a message through the contact form, you give us:

  • Your name and email address
  • Your company or organization (optional)
  • Whether you are reaching out as a brand, a property, or something else (optional)
  • Your phone number (optional)
  • Your message

We use these details to read your message and reply to you, and for the other purposes described in Section 2. The form is set up to send them to our team by email through our email service provider, Resend. We also receive anything you choose to send us when you email or call us directly.

Please do not send sensitive personal information, such as Social Security numbers, financial account information, health information, or government identification numbers, through the Site unless we specifically request it through a secure process.

Messages you send us through this site. When you use our contact form we receive your name and email address, and anything you choose to tell us about your company, your role, your phone number and what you are working on. We also record the page of the Site you sent it from and, if you reached the form from one of the properties we represent, which property that was, so we can see which of them brands are asking about. To limit repeated submissions, we keep a scrambled (hashed) form of your IP address, together with a short time window, in a counter for about a day. It is stored separately from your message.

We use this to reply to you and to understand how the Site is working. We do not sell it, and we do not use it to send you marketing unless you have separately signed up for our newsletter. Your message is stored with our hosting provider, Cloudflare, and delivered to our team by email through our email service provider, Resend. Access to it is limited to people we authorize, such as our team and the developer who maintains the Site for us, and they must sign in.

Newsletter Sign-Up

If you enter your email address in the newsletter box on our home page and press Subscribe, we save:

  • Your email address, as you typed it
  • The date and time of the sign-up
  • The page you signed up on (for example, the home page)
  • A random code that lets you unsubscribe without signing in
  • Whether you are subscribed or have unsubscribed, and where the address came from (this website, a list we imported, or our team adding you back at your request)

We do not save your name, your phone number, or your IP address with your email address. To limit repeated submissions, we keep a scrambled (hashed) form of your IP address, together with a short time window, in a counter for about a day. It is stored separately from your email address. We email a notice of new sign-ups (the address, the time, and the page) to our team at [email protected] through our email service provider, Resend. The list is stored with our hosting provider, Cloudflare. Access to it is limited to people we authorize, such as our team and the developer who maintains the Site for us, and they must sign in. We share it only as this Policy describes.

We use your email address to send you our newsletter when we publish one. If we use an email service to send it, that service will receive your address. Every email will include a link to unsubscribe that needs no sign-in. When you unsubscribe, we do not delete your address. We keep it, marked as unsubscribed, along with the date and the way your unsubscribe was recorded (for example, through the link in an email) and the details above, so that we never send you the newsletter again. Section 6 explains how long we keep it.

Information Collected Automatically

When you visit the Site, our hosting provider, Cloudflare, receives the technical information your browser sends with every request, such as:

  • Your Internet Protocol (IP) address
  • Your browser type, device type, and operating system
  • The pages you request, and the date and time of each request
  • The page that referred you to the Site
  • Your approximate location (such as your country), worked out from your IP address

Cloudflare uses this information to deliver the Site and keep it secure, and keeps a short-term record of requests, which can include your IP address, so that we can fix problems. Our analytics service, Google Analytics, also receives much of this information, so that we can see totals such as how many people visited. Both are explained under Cookies, Analytics, and Advertising in Section 3.

2. How We Use Information

We may use personal information for the following business purposes:

  • To respond to inquiries and communicate with you
  • To evaluate potential consulting, sponsorship, marketing, naming-rights, and partnership opportunities
  • To provide requested information, services, or support
  • To manage and improve our business operations and relationships
  • To operate, maintain, secure, troubleshoot, and improve the Site, and to understand how it is used
  • To send relevant business communications, where permitted by law
  • To send our newsletter to people who subscribe to it, and to keep a record of who has unsubscribed
  • To protect against fraud, misuse, security incidents, and other unlawful activity
  • To comply with legal obligations and enforce our agreements

We may use aggregated or de-identified information for analytics, research, reporting, and business-development purposes. Aggregated or de-identified information does not reasonably identify you.

3. Cookies, Analytics, and Advertising

The Site sets no advertising cookies, and it runs no advertising trackers. We do not use advertising pixels, social-media tracking pixels, or session-recording tools, and we do not build advertising profiles about visitors.

Here are the cookies and similar storage the Site and its service providers use:

  • Cloudflare security cookie. Cloudflare sets one cookie, named cf_clearance, when you visit a page. It helps Cloudflare tell real visitors from automated traffic and block abuse, and it can last up to a year. We do not use it for any other purpose, and it is not used for advertising or to follow you to other websites.
  • Human check on the contact page and the newsletter box. The "I'm human" check on the contact form and on the newsletter box is run by Cloudflare Turnstile. It loads from Cloudflare on the contact page, and on the home page only when you click, tap, or tab into the newsletter box (or press Subscribe). It may keep a small record in your browser's storage so that it can work. When you send the contact form or subscribe, we pass the result of the check and your IP address to Cloudflare to confirm that you are a person.
  • Google Analytics cookies. Google Analytics 4 sets two cookies in your browser: one named _ga, and one named _ga_ followed by a code that identifies our Analytics property. They hold a randomly generated identifier, not your name or email address, so that we can count visits and tell a returning browser from a new one. They can last up to two years.
  • Display preference. If you click the light or dark theme button, your choice is saved in your browser's local storage so that the Site remembers it. It stays in your browser and is never sent to us.
  • Team sign-in cookies. The Site has admin pages for our team. If you open one, Cloudflare Access sets sign-in cookies so that it can check who you are. They are for our team and are not used on the public pages.

You can block or delete cookies and stored site data in your browser settings. If you do, some security features may not work as intended.

Analytics

We use Cloudflare Web Analytics to understand how the Site is used. It gives us totals rather than profiles of individual visitors: how many people visited, which pages they viewed, which sites sent them, and which countries and types of device they used. It does not use cookies and does not follow you across other websites.

We also use Google Analytics 4, a service of Google LLC, to understand how the Site is used. It shows us reports about groups of visitors: which pages they view, how long they stay, which sites or searches sent them, and which countries and types of device they use. Google Analytics sets the cookies described in this Section and receives your IP address and the other information your browser sends. We have not enabled advertising features or Google Signals, so we do not use this data to show you ads or to build advertising profiles. Google acts as our service provider for these reports; how it handles information from sites that use its services is described at How Google uses information from sites or apps that use our services. You can opt out of Google Analytics by installing Google's browser add-on.

4. How We Share Information

We do not sell personal information, and we do not share personal information for targeted advertising or cross-context behavioral advertising. We may share information as reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this Policy, including with:

  • Service providers that help us host, secure, operate, and support the Site and our business communications, including Cloudflare (hosting, security, delivery, visit totals, storage of contact-form messages and the newsletter list, and the human check on the contact page and the newsletter box), Google (Google Analytics 4 site measurement), and Resend (the email service the contact form is set up to use, which also carries the notices of new newsletter sign-ups to our team)
  • Professional advisors, including legal, accounting, insurance, and business advisors
  • Business partners when necessary to evaluate or pursue a potential business relationship, partnership, sponsorship, or consulting engagement, and only as appropriate to the interaction
  • Government authorities, law enforcement, courts, or other parties when required by law or necessary to protect rights, safety, property, or security
  • A successor organization in connection with a merger, acquisition, financing, reorganization, sale of assets, or similar business transaction

Service providers may process personal information only as authorized by us and as necessary to provide services to us, subject to applicable contractual, legal, or security obligations.

5. Business Communications

If you contact us or provide your business contact information, we may communicate with you regarding your inquiry, potential services, sponsorship opportunities, industry-relevant information, or our business offerings, where permitted by law.

You may opt out of promotional email communications at any time by using the unsubscribe link in the email or by contacting us at [email protected] or through our contact page. Even if you opt out of marketing messages, we may still send non-promotional communications, including responses to your inquiry, service-related messages, or legally required notices.

6. Data Retention

We retain personal information for as long as reasonably necessary to:

  • Respond to and manage inquiries
  • Maintain business and relationship records
  • Provide services or evaluate potential engagements
  • Meet legal, accounting, tax, and reporting obligations
  • Resolve disputes and enforce agreements
  • Protect the security and integrity of our Site and operations

Retention periods vary based on the nature of the information, the reason we collected it, our operational needs, and applicable legal requirements.

Messages sent through our contact form are kept for 24 months from the day they are sent, and then deleted; you can ask us to delete yours sooner (see Section 7). Copies of our database that we keep for backup and recovery can still hold a message after it is deleted from the live database, until those copies are deleted, and the email copy delivered to our team can still hold it until it is deleted there.

Newsletter addresses are kept until you unsubscribe. After that, we keep your email address, marked as unsubscribed and with the details described in Section 1, for as long as we need it to make sure we never send you the newsletter again. If you have not unsubscribed, you can ask us to delete your address (see Section 7). The scrambled counter described in Section 1 is kept for about a day. Copies of our database that we keep for backup and recovery can still hold an address, or a counter, after it is deleted from the live database, until those copies are deleted. The email notices of new sign-ups that our team received can also still hold an address until they are deleted.

7. Your Privacy Choices and Rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights regarding your personal information, including the right to:

  • Request access to personal information we hold about you
  • Request correction of inaccurate personal information
  • Request deletion of personal information, subject to legal and operational exceptions
  • Opt out of promotional email communications
  • Limit or object to certain processing where applicable law provides that right
  • Request information about how we collect, use, and disclose personal information

To make a privacy request, contact us at [email protected], or use our contact page and begin your message with "Privacy Request." We may need to verify your identity before responding to a request. We will respond as required by applicable law, and we will not treat you differently for exercising your privacy rights.

U.S. State Privacy Notices

Residents of certain U.S. states may have additional privacy rights under applicable state law. Trenches does not sell personal information, and does not share personal information for targeted advertising or cross-context behavioral advertising, so there is nothing to opt out of today. If your browser sends a Global Privacy Control signal, we treat it as a request to opt out of any sale or sharing of your personal information.

8. Do Not Track Signals

Some web browsers offer a "Do Not Track" setting. The Site does not track you across other websites, so it does not change how it works when it receives a Do Not Track signal. Global Privacy Control signals are described in Section 7. You can manage cookies and certain tracking preferences through your browser settings.

9. Data Security

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational measures designed to protect information under our control. However, no website, transmission, system, or storage method is completely secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security of information transmitted to or through the Site.

10. Third-Party Links and Services

The Site may link to third-party websites, social-media platforms, event pages, partner sites, or other services that we do not control. This Privacy Policy does not apply to those third-party services. We encourage you to review the privacy policies of any third party before providing information to it.

11. Children's Privacy

The Site is intended for business and professional audiences and is not directed to children under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal information to us, please contact us at [email protected] or through our contact page, and we will take appropriate steps to delete the information.

12. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last Updated" date above and post the updated version on the Site. Your continued use of the Site after an update means you acknowledge the revised Policy to the extent permitted by law.
